Club History

Biker RatThe Bridge Rats were founded in 1997 when a group of members from the Calder Valley MCC decided to form a section to promote Rally attendance this spun off and they began to hold meetings at the New Delight Inn at Jack Bridge.

The club badge represents the old bridge in Hebden Bridge with the water rat in the beck beneath.

After about eighteen months the Calder Valley club became defunct so they moved into their old place at the Woodman on Burnley Road Hebden Bridge

This being a large pub with plenty of parking word soon got out and the club rapidly expanded.

After the Woodman closed we moved to the Stubbing Wharf and then to the Big Ds diner and bar always on the main road through Hebden Bridge.

With the larger membership we soon began to collect turnout awards at the larger rallies in England and Scotland and the Bridge Rats badge was recognised throughout the biking community at home and abroad.

Bridge Rats On TourBridge Rats are party animals and we started to add new ideas for having fun, policy is if someone has a good idea they bring it to the club and they put it into fruition with the support and assistance of the other members.

We now run the highly successful Rat Pack Rally and two sell out rock nights each year, we put on a charity bike run and afternoon fund raiser which brings bikers from all over the area together in a good cause and is widely respected by the local community.

Club Photo 2009The “Maggot Run” takes members from coast to coast on bikes costing less than £100 and is widely supported we also organise club runs out to Assen MotoGP each year.
